$600 for a phone and it's not even 3G. Yeah right.

Anyway, I was wondering what Cisco would do seeing as they owned the trademark and it looks like they've made the first move.

Apple calls the dispute 'silly'.

What like suing someone for owning before itunes even existed? Or harassing companies that use the word 'pod'. Or having a fight with Apple Records?

In case you're still interested, both your points are discussed here.

The fight with Cisco has been picked deliberately for extra publicity.

The lack of 3G is a strategic play to shaft Cingular's video download service in favour of the iTunes store. Apple want people to hook the iphone to an iTMS computer so they get a cut of the downloads as they do with current ipods.
